Movin' On

Sorry for my 2.5 month blogging absence - my excuse for not blogging also serves as an update:
2 dance shows, accepted into LSE, girlfriend, exams, graduation, trading.

I've decided to start a new blog that's more focused on trading and finance rather than on my personal life (it was getting too tiresome to censor all my perspectives/thoughts anyway).

If you're still interested, update your links and bookmarks and scoot on over to The Eggonomist!

Operation Phoenix

Tonight, the Pan-Asian dudes got together, packed a couple of thermal bags, visited all 14 Pan-Asian girls in their homes or in study lounges...

AND SNOWBALLED THEM!!!!

We also gave them "sorry candy" to make up for it, but those were mostly thrown back at us. Oh well.

When will I ever be able to do something as childish and get away with it again?

Mad 4

There is just no better way to spend a Friday the 13th night with good margaritas, boneless bbq honey chipotle chicken wings, and the excellent company of two (and I hate to admit it) lovely friends at Mad 4 Mex - with no worries about politics, putting on pretences, or leaving a good impression. Just pure, unadulterated, excellent conversation - and the numbing effects of a "Big-Azz" Margarita.

I'm not ready to graduate. :(

Things That Put Me in a Good Mood

I went to Chinatown to buy a pair of fake 180s (if you don't know what they are, they're sort of like earwarmers. Like these:)
The real ones are much too expensive, so I was hoping to buy one from a random street vendor. I approached this stall run by a nice old Korean lady, and she told me they were 3 bucks each. As I was taking my money out, the conversation went like this:

Korean Lady: Are you Korean?
Me: No, I'm Singaporean.
Korean Lady: (Makes some confused noises)
Me: Oh, sort of like Chinese. I'm Chinese.
Korean Lady: (smiles and indicates she understands). Are you Christian?
Me: (Thinking that she must be trying to convert me or something) Yeah! I'm Christian, yep. (This is true - Catholics fall under the umbrella of Christianity)

At this point, I'd already paid her, so I pat her on her shoulder and said, "Have a good day!" And I walk off. She calls me back and goes: "You a good boy. Good Christian boy. Here, take this. For free." and she thrusts a black beanie into my hands.

She really made my day :)

SNOW WARRRRR

It snowed really heavily for the first time in... forever. I don't think I've seen snow pile up this high at Penn since freshman year. The snow packed under my feet as I walked to Funk practice - there was a certain satisfying squish under my sneakers and I walked through the padded snow.

When I got out of practice at midnight, I made a little detour to Hamilton field.. where around a hundred people (possibly more) had decided to gather, build snowmen, and start snowball fights all over the place. Quite simply put, it was awesome. While I'd thrown snowballs before, I'd never been in an all out snow WAR: we bombed random groups of people and got bombed back, I led a classic military left flank and we owned a bunch of white guys, we chased away a couple after we bombarded them with snowballs, and we ended the night with a double quarter pounder with cheese at Mcdonald's. Tonight's definitely going into the "unforgettable college memories" section.

Pictures below of frolicking in the snow with the Pennyo/Pan-Asian people.
